Apple hit tablet Device iPad will be sold across the US by the famous retail and houseware store Target. Target declared yesterday that they are going to sell iPad which is the premier tablet device at present across its 1743 stores spread across the country.
Till now, Apple has been selling iPad mainly from its website and Apple retail stores across the country. Apart from Apple stores, electronic retailers like BestBuy and MicroCenter have also been selling the Tablet from quite a time now. Small scale retailers have also been selling iPad online through the Amazon.com store.
But since its demand is soaring, the device, like its predecessor, will also now be available at the retail stores and is generally getting limelight by seeping into the shelves of the general retail stores.
This move by Apple has been graded as a very intelligent move as far as the dominance on the electronic industry is concerned. According to Peter Fader, who is a professor at the University of Pennsylvania, a dominating strategy is that a company after launching its product start from the top notch level and gradually makes its product availability at the lower tiers. His perception is that it is necessary for Apple to dominate the market and this trickle down marketing psychology will help the company to maintain its say in the market which is brimming with products that are offering severe competition.
From October 17, all the holders of Target credit card will be liable to get 5% discount on the purchase of iPad, so a total of $25 will be shaved off from the price tag of 16 GB Wi-Fi version only device. Target is planning to sell both the Wi-Fi and 3G versions of iPad in all the categories including the 8GB and 16GB.
Apple’s iPad is already a selling item as far as consumer electronics are considered and with its common availability, the sales are likely to soar and the sales footprint will further elevate and jump to a considerable higher level. Users having Target credit cards can also go for a pre-order.
